INTRODUCTION

There are at least  two well-known alphabets that their graphic shapes of the letters resemble the sounds they stand for or rather, they have been formed on the basis of the significations with the sounds. These alphabets are Greek and Arabic. These two alphabets are very related.

The most significant manifestation of the said point is with the first four letters providing that the first letter be from Arabic alphabet “alif/alef”. (The first sound/letter is very complex).

ا         В         Г         Δ

The sounds with these letters are very important because of these points:

  1. manner of articulation: all of them are stop sounds (very prominent plosive sounds!)
  2. place of articulation: [The extreme places of the dynamic parts are involved.] “alif” (at vocal cords _the innermost articulation part), [b] on the lips (outermost articulation part), [Г] at the rearmost of dynamic part (tongue), and finally, [Δ] at the frontmost of dynamic part (tongue)

Then we sort them according to their cardinality. Based on our studies, the cardinality is from the place of articulation, that is, from innermost (vocal cords) to outermost (lips). So this is the cardinality order:

  resembles “main body”

Г resembles [“main body” + branching part on the main body]:

 +  =

Δ resembles [“main body”+ sharply bending part on the main body]:

+  (earlier graphic shape of the letter)

В resembles [“main body”+ round or cylindrical part on the main body]:

 +  =

EXAMPLES:

Г /q/ sound as in “girl”

Following examples show that the names of all the main acting part of body sprouting out or branching are starting in this sound:

main body of a horse
qulaq (ear) qol (arm) qıç (leg) quyruq (tail) qanad (wing)

As it is obviously seen, the names of the all main branching organs start in [Г] ([q] as in “girl” in English):

Δ /d/ sound

Following examples show that the names of all the bending/sharp parts on the body are starting in this sound:

daban (heel) diz (knee) dirsək (elbow) donbalmaq (bend on the hips)
dırnaq (hoof) dımdık (beak) d (tooth) d (mountain)

В /b/ sound

Following examples show that the names of all the rounding/cylindrical parts on the body are starting in this sound:

cylindrical/round parts of body

baldır (calve)

bud (thigh)

badaq (buttock)

bel (waist)

böyür (side)

bağır (chaste-lung)

bükük (main joint)

bilək (wrist)

barmaq (finger)

buxum (each part of finger)

boyun (neck)

boğaz (throat)

b (head)

buxaq (double chin)

bəniz (cheek)

burun/birin (nose)

beyin (brain)

bağır (lungs)

böyrək (kindney)

bağırsaq (intestine)
